Concertina Sketchbooks

Lucy has over 50 concertina sketchbooks drawn since 2020.

She finds them a welcoming form to interact with, given that they are by their nature three-dimensional and so connect to the physicality of designing a set for performance. They also offer a narrative structure, revealing the drawings as a storyboard does in film or theatre.
