Drawing Performance Workshop

Park Royal Design District - 21st March 2026

In March 2026, Lucy Algar led a collaborative Drawing Performance workshop at Klatch Studio, alongside her longtime collaborator, movement artist Chihiro Kawasaki.

Working within an inclusive and supportive environment, the workshop invited participants to engage with drawing and movement as co-investigators and communicators. Rooted in Lucy Algar’s ongoing approach to drawing as a live, responsive process, the sessions emphasised exchange, dialogue, and the fluid interplay between bodies, marks, and space.

Open to all levels of experience, the workshop prioritised collaboration over outcome, allowing ideas to emerge through doing, responding, and working together in real time. It culminated in a final costumed performance, where participants came together to share the results of their collective exploration.

Facilitating such spaces continues to be central to Lucy Algar’s practice, reflecting her commitment to building collaborative frameworks across disciplines, and to drawing as a shared language for exploration, connection, and performance.
