New Job!

From the 19th August I will be the new Pathway Leader BA Theatre Design at Wimbledon College of Art, University of the Arts London. It’s an incredibly exciting new challenge and I am so looking forward to being part of the Theatre team at WCA. Here’s the info about the course from the UAL website.

BA Theatre Design at Wimbledon will equip you with knowledge and professional skills in the specialist areas of both theatre set and costume design and realisation for performed events.

The course has a long-standing reputation in the entertainment industry and is synonymous with theatre design training at the highest level.

The broad base of the programme gives you increasing freedom to specialise in related areas of theatre production such as film-making or animation and pursue areas of practice-based study that will prepare you for employment in an increasingly widening field.

You will be navigated through a sequence of projects that encourage you to take total command of all visual and other sensory aspects of live productions. You will be guided through a broad range of technologies including: scaled precision model-making, costume construction and treatments, scenic art, specialist carpentry and metalworking, computer- aided design and technical drafting.
Your final year is designed to give you opportunities to use your imaginative and technical potential to the full. In partnership with staff you will design a bespoke programme of study tailored to your ambitions. This can involve realised set and costume design for various forms of theatre, from site-specific performance to dance or, increasingly, exciting and diverse hybrids.
